No

DHCP Server "Current Status" is always down, while its not.
Running Ubuntu 8.04 and Webmin 1.510-2.
Working fine on Ubuntu 10.04 but I reverted back to 8.04 since SARG don't run at all on 10.04 + webmin.

DHCP Server is currently running but status is always "down". Under Server, then DHCP Server, button is always "Start". No "Stop" or "Apply Changes". As if, server is actually down while it's not actually.

How do I fix this?

Sounds like Webmin is looking in the wrong place for the DHCP server PID file.

To correct this, search for it with a command like :

    find /var -name dhcpd.pid

Then go to the DHCPd module, click on the Module Config link, and enter the correct path in the "Path to DHCP server PID file" field.

Let us know if that works, and what the correct path was.

  • It worked.
    Default was:
    /var/run/dhcpd.pid

    Changed to:
    /var/run/dhcp3-server/dhcpd.pid

Thank you very much jcameron. I appreciate it. :)
