I installed a self - compiled version of Samba
in /usr/local/samba. My smb.conf file is
in /usr/local/samba/lib. I have altered all
parameters in the Webmin Samba Module to the correct
values.

Now I am running the automated status monitor every 5
mins and I am getting the following email:

From: Cron Daemon <root@client01-1.home.net>
To: root@client01-1.home.net
Subject: Cron
<root@wgdieleude> /etc/webmin/status/monitor.pl

Can't load /etc/smb.conf - run testparm to debug it

See the problem? Why isnt monitor.pl taking the
values of the Samba Webmin Modules where it says that
my smb.conf is in /usr/local/samba/lib?

Bye, Silvio.

The funny thing is, that error message is not coming
from webmin - it is generated by one of the samba programs
like smbstatus. Does one of your monitors maybe call
that program? The samba monitor doesn't ..
