I'm running Webmin 1.420 on CentOS Linux 5. When you select the option 'Just add new files to archive' in filesystem backup, this will not result in just replacing the new or changed files to the archive but all files will be added. The backup size will be doubled at the end of the second backup and wil be tripled the third backup.

    This is actually how tar is supposed to work - it isn't capable of updating an existing archive, just appending.

    If you want true incremental backups, you need to make EXT3 format dumps, which are also supported by that module.
    Typically you'd have a level 0 dump done every day, and a level 1 every hour ..
