While working with webmin on an ssl connection with a
timeout option set to 4 minutes Webmin seems to spawn
a new process everytime that the connection timed out.
In a few time all the processes spawned lock the
server.
It seems that the server is up .. but you can't work
not in consolle nor in telnet and so on ...

Are you connecting to webmin through an SSH tunnel?
If so, I can see how this could be happening, and have added
some code to fix it that will be in the next official
    release.
In the short term, you could use webmin's SSL support
    instead which
is just as secure and more reliable.

I'm running webmin 0.87 with it's builtin SSL support, and
after i logged in and made a few changes to mysql databases,
i discovered 26 extra miniserv processes running on my server

I've had problems with miniserv 0.87 leaving 1 or 2 hanging
    processes, but never 26.

As a perl programmer myself, my suspicion is that when it
spawns children for the CGI scripts, the CGI's aren't exiting.

This was a symptom of the Mozilla/NS 6.x bug, in my
experience (and I watched it kill all the processes on a
couple of my test boxes just for fun).

I do not see this behavior with Mozilla from 09/14/01.
