Hi, vxl guys, The gtk opengl library required to build vgui is 'gtkglarea' and it was bundled with old linux distributions such as redhat 8/9. Unfortunately, gtkglarea is now dead and removed from nowadays distros such as Fedora core 4 on my new machine. I tried to install gtkglarea under FC4 but failed since it depends on XFree86 that is replaced by Xorg. So what is the current opengl library for gtk? Any help will be appreciated! Hi Gehua, Thanks for the reply. I tried yum but it does not work. So I went to rpmfind.net and downloaded two packages: gtkglext-1.0.6-5.i686.rpm gtkglext-devel-1.0.6-5.i686.rpm Then used 'rpm -ivh ' to install them. The problem is gtkglext can't be installed without OpenGL. I checked the /usr/lib/ directory and OpenGL files ARE there: libGL.so libGL.so.1 libGLU.so libGLU.so.1 What's wrong, Any OpenGL packages missing within FC4? On rpmfind.net, the only gtkglext-1.0.6-5.i686.rpm I saw is for Polish(ed) distribution. Try to get this one: http://fr2.rpmfind.net//linux/RPM/fedora/4/i386/gtkglext-1.0.6-2.i386.html Marc Anderson wrote: >Hi Gehua, > >Thanks for the reply. I tried yum but it does not >work.
