The attached file, which is an output by IrfanView(free Window's image viewer), is one example on how vil improperly reads images with palettes. The source of the problem is that vil_png.cxx does not handle type PNG_COLOR_TYPE_PALETTE. There are several commented-out lines(Line 348) in vil_png.cxx containing the only appearance of PNG_COLOR_TYPE_PALETTE. Scott, as those lines were committed by you, may I ask if you have any knowledge of the problem? Thanks. Gehua |

I ported the code from vil1, without paying much attention to how libpng works. Sorry. Ian. |
