Here are the exact commands I use to build VXL with BCC. I don't put bcc in my PATH permanently, I add it temporarily where needed. mkdir -p $TOP/vxl_bld_bcc rm -f $TOP/vxl_bld_bcc/CMakeCache.txt cd $TOP/vxl_bld_bcc PATH=/cygdrive/c/Borland/BCC55/Bin:$PATH \ "/cygdrive/c/Program Files/CMake/bin/cmake" \ -G"Borland Makefiles" \ -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX:PATH="`cygpath -m $TOP/vxl_usr_bcc`" \ -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE:STRING=Release \ -DVXL_BUILD_DCMTK:BOOL=YES \ -DBUILD_VGUI:BOOL=YES \ -DCMAKE_VERBOSE_MAKEFILE:BOOL=OFF \ "`cygpath -m $TOP/vxl_src`" PATH=/cygdrive/c/Borland/BCC55/Bin:$PATH time make -i all Fred Wheeler > -----Original Message----- > From: Amitha Perera [mailto:pe...@cs...] > Sent: Thursday, March 11, 2004 11:58 AM > To: Alicia Monteith > Cc: vxl...@li... > Subject: Re: [Vxl-users] problem installing vxl > > > On Thu 11 Mar 2004, Alicia Monteith wrote: > > after the initial error saying it couldn't > > find the compiler, i entered the location of the bcc32 exe > file in the > > CMAKE_MAKE_PROGRAM cache value. during "Configure", when > it does the check > > for the working c compiler: bcc, i get the "-- broken" > message, and an > > error message: "Could not find file > 'cmTryCompileExec.exe'". but then, i > > can't find that file either. > > That file is generated by compiling a source file; since CMake > couldn't find the compiler, it couldn't generate the file. > > You probably need to put the full path to bcc32 into (I may get the > variable names wrong here) CMAKE_CXX_COMPILER and > CMAKE_C_COMPILER.
