If you're talking about a robust calculation like a fundamental matrix
calculation, no, it can do the pre-conditioning on its own.

Well, this isn't any "official" code, but something I've wrote that I know

As far as I know, VXL won't help you find correspondences between images with
which to populate the match set. I have my own thing, but it's not yet fit for
public consumption. Of course, if you're doing some other robust calculation,
you don't need to worry about that, anyway.
