Hi Fred and Yuli,

I made the commit of r22546. I believe it should fix Yuli's problem since her description of the issue seemed to fit with what I had encountered, which was the reason why I made the commit.

I just checked the dates of VXL releases. The version 1.10.0 was released before this fix was committed.  The current release, v1.12.0, should contain the fix.   Yuli, please try the current release and let us know if it does not solve the problem.
