Just to follow up on this - I couldn't find a solution, so I switched back to Visual Studio 2005 (msvc8), and no longer have the problem.

Is anybody out there using vxl with Microsoft Visual Studio 2008?  I just started using msvc9 with Windows Vista, and am having problems.  I have CMake version 2.4, patch 8, and the current cvs version of vxl as of 2/21/2008.

I can build the libraries with no problem, but it seems as though I have problems any time I try to run an executable that uses any type of gui.  A simple example is seg_vil (contrib/brl/bseg/sbin/seg_vil.cxx).  When I run I see:

vgui : registered 'mfc'
vgui : initialize 'mfc'

Then I get the following error:

Unhandled exception at 0x708631ea (msvcr90d.dll) in seg_vil.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0xfdfdfdf1.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
