Strange. The debug you're seeing shows the Solr request to retrieve the record data. This should be followed by debugging information related to the Aleph driver - VuFind should call getHolding(), which in turn should call doRestDLFRequest(), which in turn should call doHTTPRequest(), which should output a debug message like "URL: http://your-server/..." Note that these messages should appear inside the holdings tab area at the bottom of the screen rather than up at the top with the Solr messages. I assume you scrolled down and checked there, but I'd be interested to hear what, if anything, you're seeing in the tab area... or, if no tab area is appearing at all, whether there are any error messages in your Apache log that might help. - Demian From: Andy Erion [mailto:ae...@sd...] Sent: Wednesday, September 10, 2014 12:05 PM To: vuf...@li... I see the debugging at the top, the vufind search header, a red error box, the exception report, a Backtrace, then the footer. Ive attached screen shots of what I am seeing. The Backtrace is quite long and requires scrolling so it took two screen shots to capture the full page. I just wanted to know if it is even possible to use the Aleph driver in a single VuFind instance with Multiple ADMS. The Aleph config files seems to indicate it supports multiple BIB Libraries but only 1 Item or Patron Library. I need the exact opposite of that. We have 1 BIB library with multiple Item and Patron Libraries. After a bit more research I think I have convinced myself that multiple VuFind Instances with 1 Solr core may be the better way to go. I know that the MnPALS consortium is using a custom driver that is a bit different from the one packaged with VuFind, but unfortunately, I don't have a current technical contact there (I believe that Al Rykhus has moved on) and I'm not sure whether or not they have a multi-ADM environment. Hi Andy, I'm afraid I won't be able to help you with VuFind 2.3 in any way since we're still on VuFind 1.4 - but reading you're description of your Aleph-Setup I got really curious. It seems to match our own: Single BIB-Library, Single LOC-Library, Multiple ADM-Libraries (in our case 'just' two, but what the heck - the problems I guess only multiply from there on)... And I haven't come across many setups exactly like that. Perhaps we should compare notes and woes sometimes. ;-) Kate Am 16.09.2014 um 16:36 schrieb Andy Erion: > I just wanted to know if it is even possible to use the Aleph driver in a single > VuFind instance with Multiple ADMS. Hello, I'm still lurking. MnPALS has a multi-adm setup with a single patron database. It would take a little tweaking(I don't think a lot), but you could adjust the driver to work with multiple patron databases. From my experience, I would think it would be easier to work with a single instance of VuFind, than multiple. Just to many files to maintain. MnPALS has a new employee who is working with their implementation. Fan Zhang fan...@mn... Maybe you can draw him out of the woodwork to help you out. al ps. I'm sure he'll be happy I posted that! pps. Sorry, my new job involves Primo, so I have to live with that. No time to work on VuFind, which I miss. I would agree it would be too many files to maintain if it was going to be all 40’ish institutions we currently have, but as of right now it looks like this will only be for 6 Academic school. That may change, we shall see. Our patron barcodes are unique to the institution based on the first 5 digits. So it would be fairly simple to modify the authentication routine select which patron library to authenticate against based on the those 5 digits. Im not sure what other modifications would be neccisary. It’s the multiple Item libraries that really baffle me, im not sure where to even start if I want to use a single VuFind instance.
