Good afternoon, I've just added our Sources site <http://sources.nli.ie> ( http://sources.nli.ie) to the growing list of VuFind installations on the wiki <http://vufind.org/wiki/installation_status>. This is very much a beta release, both in terms of Vufind features that it includes (a number have been disabled for the moment), and in terms of the data which is the product of a catalogue conversion process, but we hope to make more progress over the coming weeks. On behalf of the National Library of Ireland, I'd like to thank the VuFind developers and community for this great product. Any feedback, advice, criticism would be most appreciated. All the best, Eoghan |

Looks like you're off to a very good start... and it's an interesting application of VuFind in an ILS-free setting! A couple of things I noticed in my brief exploration: 1.) Some records seem to have duplicate subject headings in both the Solr index and the source MARC records. For example: http://sources.nli.ie/Record/PS_UR_060126/Details#tabnav 2.) Very minor: the "Email this Search" link at the bottom of search results doesn't underline on mouseover (at least in FireFox 3); I think this is because it has an onclick but no href. - Demian From: Eoghan Ó Carragáin [mailto:eog...@gm...] Sent: Wednesday, September 30, 2009 10:00 AM To: vuf...@li...; vuf...@li... Cheers Demian. The duplicate subject headings (and terrible authority control) are a result of the conversion process, but hopefully we'll get them sorted out soon. Thanks for the "email this search" tip, i'll look into it. There was a problem with that function not working in IE which I added to JIRA - i may have messed something else up in getting it working Eoghan 2009/9/30 Demian Katz <dem...@vi...> > Looks like you're off to a very good start… and it's an interesting > application of VuFind in an ILS-free setting! > > > > A couple of things I noticed in my brief exploration: > > > > 1.) Thanks for pointing out the IE Javascript problem. Looks like this was fixed in the classic theme for record view a while ago, but the fix didn't translate over to search view or the default theme. I'll try to get everything cleaned up and consistent over the next day or two, and I'll close the JIRA issue when it's done. - Demian From: Eoghan Ó Carragáin [mailto:eog...@gm...] Sent: Wednesday, September 30, 2009 10:41 AM To: Demian Katz Cc: vuf...@li...; vuf...@li... Congratulations Eoghan on a nice package, and thanks for sharing. But addressing the rest of the list there seem to be a large number of long term vufinders who are not represented (you know who you are). Could those sites update/move their info from the old site to the new wiki to provide a better overview of the whole community?
