The Student Systems Development (SSD) Manager plays a key role in delivering IT services to students and staff of the University. This role has responsibility for leading and motivating a team of talented IT specialists who run the student administration systems and for managing a portfolio of IT projects in this area.
This role offers you a chance to manage a great team, oversee the design and specification of complex systems, manage important projects and foster collaboration between IT teams and staff at all levels throughout the University. Your key challenge will be to ensure the smooth running of the current legacy student systems while helping to manage the transition to a commercial system, Tribal SITS, over the coming years.
You will be working in a supportive and enthusiastic collaborative environment where it is important to deliver the best business value possible across a range of projects.
You are a proven team leader with experience of delivering essential IT services. You empower your staff to get the most out of systems, improve efficiency and get the best business value for new development projects.
You will be an excellent communicator who has experience delivering successful IT projects and is able to inspire and motivate your team.
The successful candidate will most likely have a degree or equivalent in a relevant field and have at several years of management experience in progressively responsible roles. You should be familiar with ITIL processes and Prince2 project management principles.
