Hi, Just a minor issue, but one that is more admin than tech: Since the en.ini file has been improved (grouping etc.) recently, other language files are getting more out of date. Also, since en.ini now used references like "top_facet_additional_prefix", this can look more buggy in the non-English interface than the plain English fail-over did until now. A few question: - Where did the original translations come from? - What languages, if any, should be fully supported out of the box (i.e. always updated for each major release), or is it enough to leave this to local implementations? - Do these need to be up to date for RC2? for 1.0? - Are there existing volunteers for any of these languages? I will commit and offer to maintain an Irish (Gaeilge) file, but it is unlikely to be in high demand ;) Cheers, Eoghan |

I recently opened VUFIND-149 in JIRA because of these very issues. I don't think it's realistic to resolve this before RC2, but it would be nice to make as much progress as we can in time for 1.0. Unfortunately, my own language skills are limited to English, so I can't be of much help. We should maintain a list of volunteers in the Wiki, similar to what we've done with ILS drivers. I've rearranged things a little bit and put more links under the administrative section of the Wiki. Here's the placeholder I put in for language experts -- right now you're the only person listed. I'll cross-post to vufind-tech and vufind-general to see if we can get any volunteers to help fill out the list. http://www.vufind.org/wiki/language_support_list - Demian ________________________________________ From: Eoghan Ó Carragáin [eog...@gm...] Sent: Tuesday, November 03, 2009 9:50 PM To: vuf...@li...
