Thanks for the update -- it's good to hear that the German VuFind community is so active, and I look forward to seeing the new feature tickets. Of course, I'm always interested in hearing about code quality issues -- I'm always happy to brainstorm improvements in that area. I try hard to produce clean, comprehensible code, but since there's nobody actively reviewing all of my code, I'm sure I fall short of the goal sometimes. As I've probably said before, I take criticism well, so I don't mind having people staring over my shoulder if that results in better software. As for VuFind 2.0, the alpha code will be released on Monday, so you can all try it out and report bugs. I've also begun porting it over to Zend Framework 2 and developing under Git (see http://sourceforge.net/projects/vufind/develop), so hopefully that will help make 2.0 development more collaborative in the coming months. As I said on the last developers call, the 2.0beta code in Git isn't very functional yet since I have a bit more work to do to adapt to the new framework... but once it's closer to being a working prototype, I'll make an announcement on vufind-tech, and everyone can start digging into it! - Demian > -----Original Message----- > From: Oliver Goldschmidt [mailto:o.g...@tu...] > Sent: Thursday, June 28, 2012 10:13 AM > To: vuf...@li... > Subject: [VuFind-General] A little report about the german Vufind Session > > Hi anybody, > > in Germany we had a very interesting Vufind Session on Tuesday and > yesterday, which was organised by the University Library in Leipzig > (again: thank you for that!). > We had some interesting presentations and workshops about using (german) > authority data in Vufind, how to handle multivolumed items, about the > record manager from Ere Maijala (who presented it himself - thank you > for joining us!), about Vufind 2.0 and about the code quality of Vufind. > I don't want to go into detail here about every presentation we heard, > because that would surely blow up this email.
