Another question about the minutes: Section 2. "Solr 3.x Update: Still waiting for a SolrMarc release". Once this is out, will that open the door to collapsible facets? Thanks! Subject: Re: [VuFind-Tech] Developers Call Minutes - 7/26/11 Thanks for pointing this out - I have expanded the documentation in the wiki to account for various new themes. The "blueprint" theme was introduced in VuFind 1.1 (contributed by Tuan Nguyen), and it was designed to get away from the dependency on the YUI Javascript libraries, since jQuery seems to be gaining considerably more popularity. Blueprint will most likely become the default theme of VuFind 2.0. I do plan to eventually create classic and default themes for VuFind 2.0 as well; it's yet to be seen whether I'll port over the current YUI versions or simply apply CSS to create subsets of blueprint that maintain the look of classic and default. Right now I'm leaning toward the idea of getting away from YUI entirely, since it will greatly reduce the maintenance burden of adding new features to VuFind, and it makes it generally easier to use third-party libraries since jQuery is better-supported than YUI in my experience. However, my mind can be changed if there is popular demand to keep YUI alive in VuFind. In any case, it's probably not a bad idea to work from blueprint if you haven't already invested a lot of time into theming - it will probably make upgrading easier in the future. However, if you've already invested a lot of time into classic or default, I don't think you'll be totally left out in the cold. You can currently see blueprint in action here: http://vufind.org/demo_trunk/ - Demian From: anna headley [mailto:an...@gm...] Sent: Wednesday, July 27, 2011 4:04 PM To: Demian Katz Cc: vuf...@li...; vuf...@li... Subject: Re: [VuFind-Tech] Developers Call Minutes - 7/26/11 In the notes a couple meetings back it is mentioned that Demian is only porting the "blueprint" theme to 2.0. This confused me because VuFind documentation says: Currently, there are two themes: classic (the old look) and default (the new look). <http://vufind.org/wiki/directory_layout> So is "blueprint" the new default? i.e. if we are going to be working from a theme, should it be that one? Also, is there any place I can see what it looks like? Thanks!
