Greetings all,

Further to my previous e-mails. I believe that Jetty starts but that it fails to start solr:

INFO   | jvm 1    | 2009/05/25 17:58:25 | SEVERE: Could not start SOLR. Check solr/home property
INFO   | jvm 1    | 2009/05/25 17:58:25 | java.lang.RuntimeException: Can't find resource 'solrconfig.xml' in classpath or 'solr/conf/', cwd=c:\vufind\solr\jetty\bin

Could this be caused by an empty data set? I have not been able to load any item data yet.

Kind Regards,

Luke

Subject: Re: [VuFind-General] Windows Install

Hi Greg,

Thanks for your reply. I have downloaded 1.0 Release Candidate 1 and am using a previous Xampp installation.

When I browse to http://localhost:8080/solr/, my browser cannot display the page though the jetty fav.icon is displayed.

When I browse to http//localhost:8080/ I get the following message: /solr ---> org.mortbay.jetty.webapp.WebAppContext@95cfbe{/solr,jar:file:/C:/vufind/solr/jetty/webapps/solr.war!/}

I am trying to run jetty as a service but I have used the following to set up java:

cd \vufind\solr\jetty\
java -Dsolr.solr.home=c:\vufind\solr -Xmx1G -Xms1G -jar start.jar

On unix, Vufind runs as a server. Is there an equivalent start up process for windows?

Kind Regards,

Luke

Hi Luke,

Not sure on the 'strict standards' issue, I'd need some error messages pointing at what/why/where they were raised in the code to help. They could just be simple config issues for your php install.

The second error seems to relate to vufind talking to solr. Have you confirmed that all is working well there? You should be able to hit your solr install from the browser as well eg. http://localhost:8080/solr/ is where it runs on my laptop.

Hope that helps,

Subject: [VuFind-General] Windows Install

Greetings,

I am attempting to install vufind on a windows laptop and have used the instructions found at http://www.vufind.org/wiki/installation_windows using the Xampp instructions.

Unfortunately, the installation has not succeeded. In addition to a number of "Strict Standards" warnings I also get the following information:

An error has occurred

Malformed response

Can anyone give me any advice?
