I'm successfully using LDAP under Ubuntu on my test server. However, I had to add the line

TLS_REQCERT never

to the end of my /etc/ldap/ldap.conf file in order to get things working. I can't remember all the details of why this was necessary; something to do with whether/how strictly OpenLDAP checks certificates sent by the LDAP server.

Hi Folks,

Does anyone use LDAP for authentication?

Have you managed to get ldap_start_tls working on Ubuntu?

Cheers,
