Unless you are using a very old version of VuFind (1.0RC1 or earlier), there should be “cat_username” and “cat_password” settings in the LDAP section of web/conf/config.ini.  If you set these to the fields in your LDAP schema containing barcode and surname, respectively, then the user should be automatically logged in to your ILS.  If there are problems that prevent this feature from working correctly in the multi-system version of VuFind, let us know and perhaps Luke and I can work out a solution.

Subject: [VuFind-General] Auto login to LMS

Hi

We are using LDAP to authenticate our patrons in VuFind and would like this log in data to provide the details to automatically log the patron in to our LMS (Voyager).  We retrieve the patron barcode and surname via LDAP and these are set in the VuFind database but the patron is required to “re-enter” this data to access their Voyager details.

I should point out that we are using the multi-system version (Voyager and Innovative) where all our patrons are members of the Voyager system but they can browse and request (via ILL) items from the Innovative system.

Is there any way to get the LDAP login to automatically log the patron into their LMS as well?

Regards

Jamie
