Thanks for testing, Demian.

The spacing between the listings can be decreased by reducing "ul.similar li {padding-bottom:10px;}" but, as you say, I think the it is an improvement.

One local modification I made is to use a smarty "truncate" on the similar items titles to stop this box from getting too long. Some of our "titles" are very lengthy as they are really MSS abstracts rather than titles - I'm not sure if it is necessary/beneficial for the trunk?.

I just tested the patch in IE7 and the latest Windows versions of Firefox, Opera and Safari.  The IE display definitely improves without any apparent detriment to the other browsers.  The only visible change across the board is the spacing between the listings in the similar items box, and this seems like an improvement anyway.

I'd say that if nobody objects to this in another couple of days, you should go ahead and commit it.

Subject: [VuFind-Tech] ie css issues

I have added a JIRA patch (VUFIND-156) for some ie6/7 display issues on the full record page. Have tested in Firefox & Chrome and the changes don't adversely affect them. Please test/comment.

I have also assigned other IE-css-related JIRA tickets to me (VUFIND-133 and VUFIND-91).
