During the CHOICE VStar course May 2014, Mark Blackford said:

"...it may already be possible but I haven't found it. It would be good if we could save the current state of VStar including the loaded observations, plot control selections, filters, discrepant observations, etc, then be able to reload these into VStar at a later session. Essentially start up a new session in exactly the same condition as a previous session."

I replied:

"...I've thought about doing this and at least one other person has asked for it.

There's a couple of approaches:

  1. Have VStar generate a script that when loaded will replay some set of actions, having recorded everything like a macro. That has its own inefficiencies if you just want the current state of things.

  2. Save current state in a XML project file or similar, including data and other key aspects of the state."

I recall creating a similar ticket quite awhile ago. Perhaps I closed it.
