mmm, it doesn't really look like anything that would be usefull. the vnc session mananger basically just needs to choose the session, and then tells the vnc client to reconnect. it also needs root access during this process.

xdm-options is a full configuration of xdm. It's on Source Forge and has screenshots to look at.
It's very competitive with GDM but can run with just /bin/ash (no extra libs or bins required).
