Hi,
I could not find if this is already possible in the docs.. It would be nice if TightVNC could listen on more than one port (or range of ports). I do not mean the display number (such as PORT is display 0, PORT+1 is display 1, etc.); more like entering something like "7200-9, 9200-9" to listen on port 7200 AND 9200for display 0, 7201 AND 9201 for display 1, etc. Ideally, ports specific to an interface: iface 1 using port 7200, and iface 2 using port 9200, for example.
This idea came about because of this scenario: I am behind a NAT router on my cable modem, and one of my computers is a laptop with a docking station. When docked, it uses the wired LAN plugged into the dock with a static DHCP reservation (192.168.8.200). While undocked and roaming about the house, it's on the wireless LAN using another static DHCP reservation (192.168.8.201). In my router, I have port ranged forwarded 7200-9 to the .200 IP, and 9200-9 to the .201 IP, so I could, theoretically, VNC into the laptop regardless of whether I left it docked or on the kitchen table when I leave the house, by simply trying to connect to the right port (range) for the currently active interface.
too bad you don't have verizon router the router they use for fios tv, because that router uses the name of the pc to use port firewall rules, so me i just need to say send port 1999 to pc webserver and it does it even if i am wireless or wired or even if my pc changes ip address i don't care it won't affect me contact me if you wish to know which router exactly does it ill tell you the model number
