Using the Java viewer v2.7.2 in full-screen mode. Now you can zoom-out so that the controls disappear as they stay in the middle of the screen and the vnc screen while zoomed out moves to the right. I didn’t find a way back from this state.

Got a simple workaround for this.

This extremely rare but frustrating problem just happened to me. Took me a couple hours searching online for a quickfix but found none. Then I found a quick workaround for my particular situation.

    First, by configuration:

    Linux-chrome-[vncviewer]   ---->>>    Windows-dual-monitor-PC-[vncserver]

    - I am using Extended desktop mode, with monitor #2 configured to be
stacked on top of monitor #1 in "Display Properties -> Settings"

    Problem:

In the Linux browser, I switched "zoom to fit window", sure enough, the
vncviewer control toolbar was truncated and the buttons for zoom control
were clipped off. So I could not reset back to normal: "zoom 100%".

    My Workaround:

After much searching online to no avail for java vncviewer keyboard
shortcuts, I realized I could go to the Windows-dual-monitor-PC directly
and re-arrange the Extended desktop so it is side-by-side rather than
one on top of the other. This had the effect of allowing
the full vncviewer control toolbar to become visible at the top of the
vncviewer window as usual. And from there I could get out of zoom mode.

    Generic Workaround:

Hopefully the Vnc server to which you are connected to when this happens
has dual-monitor & "extended" desktop capability. Just connect a second
monitor to it and arrange for side-by-side extended desktop and reset the
    zoom on the vncviewer PC.
