Another disadvantage is that ODBC is not a standard interface for SPARQL, so code becomes tied to virtuoso. Hmm.. Remember, you can execute SPARQL via ODBC or JDBC using Virtuoso. Or you execute it directly. ODBC is an open standard for connecting to RDBMS engines. Being a hybrid engine we also enable SPARQL access via this channel. The goal is never to be Virtuoso specific.
