Hey

could you write a script that behaves like ":help" ?

http://vimdoc.sf.net/help.php?tag=section

would redirect to

http://vimdoc.sf.net/htmldoc/motion.html#section

That could then be easily used in a lot of applications (browser-searchengines, mailinglists, wikis ...)

Should be easy enough :-)

    This is a very good idea, though I ended up using a program supplied by John Beckett. The script has actually been in place for about a year now, but I had not come back to respond to this submission. I have just now updated it for Vim 7.2. Thanks for the suggestion, and let me know if you see any problems with the current script.
