Thanks for the fast response but I’m afraid I’m not up to the task…

Done some googling and read some articles about encoding – but I still haven’t got a clue how to get the information you asking about.

Thanks anyway,

Did you check which encoding your browser detects? Could you also check what encoding the mysql connection has videoDB establishes? I'm suspeting pages served by your webserver in the wrong encoding...

made a clean install of videoDB 3.0.3 on my public domain. Before the install I deleted all tables from my database.

The install went just fine and videoDB was up and running.

My problem is when I try to save accented caracters as a title videoDB cuts off the rest of the title from the accented character (including the accented char)

For example if I put Találos as a title – videoDB saves it as Tal.

I checked my database with phpmyadmin and

- MySQL charset: UTF-8 Unicode (utf8)

- MySQL connection collation: utf8_unicode_ci

- the collation in my database tables just the same (eg. Actors MyISAM utf8_general_ci)

What should I change to get the accented characters displayed in videoDB?

Thanks for your help,

ps. I’ve made some screenshots but have not posted as I don’t know if that’s OK on this board.
