A handy feature for checking SYS lines of loaded files would be autoload, as opposed to autostart. Currently, there's no easy way to load a file from the VICE user interface without running it automatically. A "run automatically" checkbox (default ON) in File->Autostart disk/tape image would make my life much easier.

In fact, it'd be super-handy if the checkboxes from Settings->Autostart settings were available directly in File->Autostart disk/tape image for ad-hoc choice, one could then change things like "RUN / RUN: / no RUN", autowarp or delay in a quick, handy way.

Discussion

  • I think having a modifier, for example, if you hold shift while dragging and dropping a .d64 onto x64, it will just attach the drive instead of attaching+autorunning. Maybe holding down ctrl or some other key while dragging and dropping (or autostarting) could attach+load but not run? .. to make things easier / without having to change anything in the UI

EDITED 08/24/2013: the shift+dnd modifier for attaching an image always existed - nevermind :)
