No

what VICE version are you using? 2.3.20
what operating system are you using? WinXP pro

When checking "disable directX 9 video driver" at the options menu the fullscreen mode doesen't work. The last beta it worked was 2.3.9.

Discussion

  • I can confirm that it doesn't work here either, using 2.3.20

  • DX9 is now required to have fullscreen.

A possible improvement is to grey out the fullscreen option when DX9 is disabled.

When running WinVice on an arcade monitor using the soft15k patch disabling dx9 gives perfect smooth scrolling and pixel perfect display in fullscreen. When using dx9 the screen stutters every few seconds and the screen is blurred.
It would therefore be very nice to have fullscreen when disabling dx9

I would like to have fullscreen with DirectDraw again, too! Or at least a possibility to have 1:1 pixels without full screen anti-aliasing. At the moment full screen always uses anti-aliasing no matter if native resolution is set.

  • Moving to feature requests, since the actual bug is fixed but it would be nice to have fullscreen when dx9 is disabled.
