Well this is a weird request and not a "feature" per se.
Yet, it will really "add" to VICE.

Official releases are VERY rare. The last few used to be "about a year" apart, which is already too long and (upcoming???) 2.4 is already 14 months and counting?

If the project wasn't active I would understand it, yet there seem to be frequent code updates.

So why SO rare officially compiled updates?
To be honest I would love a much shorter release cycle and even official betas in between (helps with debugging...), but at least do not treat your fans with 14 months and counting...

More frequent releases would help with keeping the project "hot" to users. Except if you just do it for yourselves.

I could go further, with saying that in 2012 VICE COULD have a better web page (you people haven't even bothered removing "new" from 2.3 and it looks like those detergents that are "new" for 10 years)... but let's keep the request clear: Please release 2.4 soon and DON'T take one and a half year for 2.5.

And no, not all people can compile the sources.

Thank you for your time.

i don't have a problem myself with long release cycles, as long as there are binaries for unstable versions around...

but usually they can only be found for windows. so i can still see your point.

Actually I don't even see unstable betas for Windows either...
And all those "open" and "unassigned" cannot be good...

closing, asking the same thing everywhere does not help with getting us more manpower.
