I guess you know about the color palettes used by GBC for original GB games (those accessed by key combinations pressed while the GB logo is displayed on the screen). Is there a way to add these colors to the emulator, either through customization or the key combinations themselves?

Discussion

  • CGB bios support is in the list of things to add.

Regardless, you can modify the palettes to suite in the Options > Gameboy > Colours menu.

Good to know. I look forward for this feature to be added. ^^
The Colors menu does the job quite well, but it's limited (some of the color palettes supported by GBC for GB games have more than 8 colors - the background and two sprites, for example).

  • Yes, i have discovered this myself, it seems the GBC allows for GB games to use 12 colours at a time, rather than only 8.

  • It must be a hard feature to add, since it's still in the todo list...

  • it involves rewriting a good portion of the CGB init and run code

  • Whoa, not an easy task indeed... I have some basic knowledge in programming, so that I understand how much it can take.
