It seems that youtube has changed the page format. There is a possible patch attached here. I had a look to get_youtube_vids.awk and got some hints. The way the request ID is extracted from the descriptor is quite different.
Also, I added some minor changes:
- added explicit references to ~/.utube in some SHELL lines, so the program may be launched from different directories,
- added a single quote in the shell string around the "uturl" variable expansion, so the URL can contain the "&" character, and URLs terminating with "&hl=..." have a chance to be accepted.

  • Thanks. Can you indicate into which path/directory it should added.

I have 10 iterations of the FMain.class file in my Ubuntu 9.04 64 bit installation.

I really do not want to mess them up.

  • The file FMain.class I modified comes from the package utube-1.7.src.gtk.tar.gz . As far as I know, it's the latest official version.
I tested it (not much) on an Ubuntu 9.04 32 bit.

Apparently the page format has changed again. I can see the url.info & urlsrc.txt files being created in my ~/.utube folder, but they seem to get deleted too fast for me to open and view them, and the video never downloads.

BTW I'm using the 2.0 release, can anyone help to fix the problem please?
