I want to compile uml under Suse9.1(kernel 2.6.4, gcc 3.3.3).
I started with a clean 2.4.24 kernel from kernel.org + uml-patch-2.4.24-3
The only change I made in make ARCH=um menuconfig: I unchecked /dev file
system support - this turned out to be neccessary in older
version(2.4.20 see below)
make ARCH=um dep
make ARCH=um linux
produced a kernel. Starting kernel I get exactly 2 messages:
Checking for the skas3 patch in the host ... found
Checking for /proc/mm found.
That's it :-(
I propably missed some secrets in setting up uml on Suse. Maybe someone
has an idea.
PS: I have some host with different Suse installations at hand. On
Suse8.2 I got a uml kernel 2.4.20 compiled and working.
Everythind after that does not work for me:-(
