I'm searching for a maintainance solution for my uml-systems
which can do the following:
* maintaining the configuration data which is needed for starting
* starting the uml-systems and switches automatically
* opening the consoles of the uml-systems in a defined way
I would like to have something like this to get a login-console
$ openthemagicumlconsole <systemname>
Ist that possible ?
If there is no tool available - i would like to implement this :-)
Wich mechanism can i use for this ?
(Opening a pts-device with a screen works well, but the devices are
allocated randomly. Are there better ways to do this ?)

Google for UMLd. That would appear to do what you want.
If not, I suspect that David takes patches...

You can use mconsole to ask the UML what device it got for a particular
console, and then attach screen to it.
