I got a bit further. Now I can get the 2.6.0-test3 to compile !
I put everything in the kernel and I remove SCSI support.
I got this : 4963339 2003-08-25 20:48 vmlinux
But then :
$ ./vmlinux ubd0=root_fs.old
bash: ./vmlinux: cannot execute binary file
Please help... ;o)
Otherwise, using Debian package, I can start it, but I can't get the network
working. I start it with :
$ linux ubd0=root_fs.old eth0=ethertap,tap0,,192.168.0.28
I can set up the interfaces, I can ping 192.168.0.28 from inside and outside,
but I can ping the host. However I have :
(none):~# ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.28 up
* ifconfig tap0 arp mtu 1500 192.168.0.28 netmask 255.255.255.255 up
* bash -c echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
* route add -host 192.168.0.28 dev tap0
* bash -c echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/tap0/proxy_arp
* arp -Ds 192.168.0.28 eth1 pub
What's missing ?
BTW, and at every boot I get this :
The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2
filesystem. If the device is valid and it really contains an ext2
filesystem (and not swap or ufs or something else), then the superblock
is corrupt, and you might try running e2fsck with an alternate superblock:
e2fsck -b 8193 <device>
fsck failed. Please repair manually and reboot. Please note
that the root file system is currently mounted read-only. To
remount it read-write:
# mount -n -o remount,rw /
CONTROL-D will exit from this shell and REBOOT the system.
Give root password for maintenance
(or type Control-D for normal startup):
But then I can login. Is this normal ?
