I have written a little script to install the RedHat Linux 7.2 Base set
of rpms into a filesystem image file to use with usermode linux.
So I'm sending it here if somebody else might find it useful.
If you find it useful or have any comment, let me know.
btw, how do you folks create your root_fs images?
I also have some minor problems:
why do I get this error when the system boots:
error stat'ing /dev/pts/p0: No such file or directory
(after the login screen is displayed)
the modules that are in the rpm seem to have unresolved symbols:
Finding module dependencies: depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.17-1um/kernel/drivers/net/plip.o
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.17-1um/kernel/fs/jffs/jffs.o
and another strange thing, whil booting I get this error:
Starting system logger: [FAILED]
but the log daemons are started ok:
# ps -ef | grep log
root 185 1 0 14:47 ? 00:00:00 syslogd -m 0
root 190 1 0 14:47 ? 00:00:00 klogd -2
