I have tested an simple whileloop:
compiled with gcc2.95.4 and gcc3.2
in selfcompiled UML 2.4.19-51, 2.4.20-3, downloaded from:
and in binaries linux-2.4.21-pre5, linux-2.5.64-bk3-63um1-3,
downloaded from: http://www.stearns.org/uml/
on Hostkernels 2.4.19 and 2.4.20 compiled with gcc2.95.4
and this little binary causes UML in all combinations they i
tried to hang completely.
In addition to it i tried very many configurations especially
skas/tt and debug-switches with no success.
The once Kernel where i could interrupt this loop via ctrl-c and
the kernel run normal also while this loop was running is linux-2.4.19-5
So it must be possible to make an corresponding kernel, but how?
Have you any idee?
