I am also looking forward to the cleaned up code and I hope we could leave
single user mode soon. But with the patch I can start playing around right
I am building some software right now and having a hard time to make it
cross platform. With uml under win32 this is no problem at all. (cygwin does
not allways do the trick)
I hope that someday it will also be possible to make a few dummy stub
drivers for windows which claim io resources (irq etc) and have linux
drivers (and software) for the some devices. Like the way uml usb support
under linux works right now.
This would make numerous (old) devices available again for win2k and winxk
for which no or only buggy drivers exist.
This way it is possible to make a real SANE for windows (which is so much
better as twain)
