I'm the guy working on it.  It's almost there.  I get a problem while
booting a (Debian) system, where init gets stuck between running rc 2
and launching gettys, but I've been able to boot single-user and do
stuff.  I'd love to get someone else testing it!

See http://www.tartarus.org/~chris/user-mode-linux/ for an additional
patch you'll need to apply to the UML sources.  It was made a couple
of UML versions ago, but I expect it still to apply.
