I noticed something interesting..
FE:FD:00:00:00:00 seems to be the default mac address. (atleast in daemon
and multicast mode)
The last 4 digits of the MAC are the ip address of the interface are made
from the ip address of the interface when it is brought up.
However this does not work with bridge mode. I can of course change the MAC
address on the command line, my question is does anybody plan on changing
the implementation of the MAC address to something based off of another part
of linux.. like how do GRE tunnels allocate a MAC address?
The reason I want it to be designed from something other than the IP is
because when bridging is brought up, it of course comes up with
FE:FD:00:00:00:00. which is no good.
