Hi *,

I have downloaded the UnxUtils source from CVS and
built the Downhill library; on Windows XP and
"Microsoft Visual C 98". I do get the downhill.lib but
when I try to compile downhill.c in the test directory
I get:
-------------------------------------
===== Compiling DOWNHILL.C
CL /FoDOWNHILL.OBJ -c -W3 -I"..\INCLUDE" -Ox -DWIN32
.\DOWNHILL.C
Microsoft (R) 32-bit C/C++ Optimizing Compiler Version
12.00.8804 for 80x86
Copyright (C) Microsoft Corp 1984-1998. All rights
reserved.

DOWNHILL.C
.\DOWNHILL.C(80) : error C2065: 'Downhill_User_Id' :
undeclared identifier
NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'CL' : return code '0x2'
Stop.
-------------------------------------

Should Downhill_User_Id be extern or something? I'm
just using the plain and simple makefiles that came
with the source.

Has anyone been able to compile UnxUtils from source?

I don't have a clue yet on how to compile the unix
tools themselves (no makefiles, no docs). Any ideas?

BTW, Visual Studio .NET fails when compiling
downhill.lib; different header files I guess. So I
switched back to VC98.
