UIMA Java Framework v1.4.4 and v2.0.2 Released

Versions 1.4.4 and 2.0.2 of the UIMA Java Framework have been released. These are maintenance releases providing fixes for bugs in v1.4.3 and v2.0.1.

UIMA Java Framework 2.0.0 Released

This is a (Beta) level release of UIMA 2.0 containing several major functional enhancements, including new primitive types, new CAS Multiplier component, new Flow Controller component, and an improved semantic search engine.

UIMA Java Framework 1.4.0 released

This release includes XMI support. There are two new chapters in the user's guide describing this support. As a part of this change, additional type system feature description information for types which are arrays or lists can now be specified, including the type of the elements of these collections.

A new utility to merge 2 or more PEAR files has been added, and is described in the user's guide.... read more

UIMA Java Framework 1.3.1 released

The Unstructured Information Management Archtecture (UIMA) framework is an open, industrial-strength, scalable and extensible platform for building analytic applications or search solutions that process text or other unstructured information to find latent meaning, relationships and relevant facts buried within.

The UIMA framework is used to create, compose and deploy text and multi-modal analysis engines that can be used to automatically discover the semantics associated with elements of text, video, speech or other unstructured information. The resulting information can be used to tag, index, or otherwise enhance content to get better search results from intranets, commerce, or self-service sites, or to gain a deeper understanding of quality problems and their causes, client satisfaction and sentiment, risk positions and potential fraud, and numerous other scenarios.
