I find it more useful *not* to have the path information in the ID files. This is because both my raw files and the jpeg output are often moved about (mostly for want of space). I disabled the path output permanently, which is easy enough, but other users may find tje option of not having the path in the ID files useful.

    Because of this problem, I often have to edit the ID files, usually with the aid of a script. It would indeed be very nice for UFRaw to be able to override the paths in the ID file, for it to have a configurable fallback search path or to ask me where to get the goods.
