I found some problem with set: Gimp 2.8+UFRaw 0.18+Windows 7/Vista 64b
First of all, sorry for my english , it is not my native language, and I know
in this message so much mistakes, but I want to find solution of my problem.
If you install UFRaw on WindowsXP/Vista/7 after installing Gimp 2.8, to default
directory is C:\Program Files\UFRaw and UFRaw do not working. If you change
directory to C:\Program Files\Gimp 2 (WindowsXP) UFRaw working very well, but
if we will use Vista or 7 (64 bit), we will get some problem...
When we start UFRaw we get error message (some error in DLL). If platform is 64
bits, gimp automatically create a new directory "32", and I tried to install
UFRaw in this directory (C:\Program Files\Gimp 2\32) after that UFRaw working
almost well, but plug-in not working. Then I changed location UFRaw plugin
(exe) to the correct directory and plug-in began to work. The last problem is
button "Open in Gimp" (near "Save"). It is ever working. Well, it is all and I
hope you answer me.

Discussion

  • UFRaw 0.18 is built to work with GIMP 2.6.x (and GIMP 2.4.x). Problems with GIMP 2.8.x are to be expected.

A simple configuration change is needed to get the "Open in Gimp" button working. Push the "Options" button and change the remote gimp command to "gimp-2.8.exe" in the "Settings" tab.

    Well, am already tried to.
    Two case:
gimp-2.8.exe or gimp-win-remote gimp-2.8.exe, am always got following message : Failed to execute child process (No such file or directory). Thanks anyway.

  • Have you checked that ufraw.exe and gimp-2.8.exe are both in the same directory?

No, they are not both in the same directory.
ufraw.exe is in the directory: C:\Program Files\Gimp 2\32\ gimp-2.8.exe is in the directory: C:\Program Files\Gimp 2\bin\ Because if i put ufraw.exe (and other files dll) in same directory with gimp-2.8.exe, i have got follow message: "error application startup (0xc000007b). Press OK"

(XP Pro SP3): UFRaw seems to work fine as standalone and also the plugin opens ufraw in gimp 2.8.2. For both situations the same problem remains: If "save" (standalone-start) is pushed or if the gimp-icon is pressed -> crash (while Interpolating) at the end of the progress bar -> "ufraw-gimp.exe" has crashed.

At the moment the pictures could be treated in ufraw but could not be saved of moved to Gimp... The remote gimp command is changed to "gimp-2.8.exe" in the "Settings" tab.

When the UFRaw window is moved it crashes too.

    Any idea?

    Thanks a lot!
    Regards
    Thomas

If ufraw-gimp.exe is startet alone, I get this:

    ... "libintl_setlocale" couldn't be found in ... "libintl-8.dll"

I see, that there is also a "libintl-8.dll" in my development environment in "C:\MinGW\bin , what is in the Path. If I change this, I can execute ufraw-gimp.exe without error.

But UFRaw still crashes. May be there are other dlls which should be better copied into the plugin-folder where ufraw-gimp.exe stays? But which? I don't get any hint with process monitor.

    Regards
    Thomas
