I can't get Launchpad to accept the following bug report due to persistent timeout problems!

Sub-menus and dialogue boxes don't operate properly in Thunderbird immediately after upgrade of Ubuntu from 9.10 to 10.04. This is scary stuff since Thunderbird is close to unusable in this condition! Indeed, I had made a decision to switch to Evolution because this all occurred on my PRODUCTION machine. I tried to report the problem at the time, but Launchpad malfunctioned and trashed my report.

After being told by Ubuntuzilla about upgrades to Firefox, I tried to follow instructions to update both Firefox and Thunderbird. Thunderbird apparently updated successfully to 3.0.4, and so far, that update has apparently resolved my severe problems. However, I am upset that I had to go though the Ubuntuzilla process to fix things!

Note that the 'report a problem' option is missing from Thunderbird, thus I was forced to launch this bug report from Firefox.

    Hi

This is not the right place to report bugs with ubuntu packages.
This space is exclusively for the ubuntuzilla project, which packages official mozilla binaries into .debs.

Please also see the ubuntuzilla project site for details:
    http://ubuntuzilla.sourceforge.net/

I suggest you try to refile this on launchpad.

As far as I can tell, the Ubuntu Repository for 10.04 contains a bad version of Thunderbird which is passed on to every Ubuntu/Thunderbird that updates to Ubuntu 10.04.

Whose fault? I don't know. I'm just reporting what happened (with stuff copied and pasted to avoid typing roughly the same stuff over and over). I tried to do Ubuntu Launchpad, it balked, had to send it by E-mail - and was told by Ubuntu to go here

    from ddecator@gmail.com:

Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. The Ubuntuzilla PPA is not
officially supported and does not use Launchpad to track bugs, so I am
closing this report. Please file a report on the Ubuntuzilla bug tracker
    (http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=202789&atid=982990).
Alternatively, the Ubuntu Mozilla Team, which is responsible for
maintaining the official releases of Mozilla products in Ubuntu, has a
Firefox Stable PPA which allows the use of Launchpad to track bugs
    (https://launchpad.net/~mozillateam/+archive/firefox-stable/) if that's
    what you're interested in.

Well, since the ubuntuzilla side works fine, as per your report, closing this.
There's nothing I can do from here about official ubuntu packages.
