I note over the past few days you've made some very positive changes. I
applaud, and welcome them.
On the downside, you've also seen fit to start modifying the way I sign on
TWiki.org. I do not do this to your signatures, please do not do this to
I sign my name as MS because I have to. This has nothing to do with
TWiki.org - it has everything to do with an internet stalker (for want of
a better phrase) as I have mentioned before privately, and on
twiki-core@... in the past. We have partially resolved
this issue with this individual, which involved social services, the
police & the courts at great personal cost.
I am only requesting this publicly to ensure that the twiki community
understands why I am removing my name. As a compromise on your policy I
have changed to using "MS".
Personally I would prefer that the page Main.MichaelSparks was renamed to
Main.MS (ala my site), and the entry in the htpasswd file changed to MS as
well. However, I realise the churn this would have on TWiki.org which is
why I'm not suprised it's not going to happen.
You'll note that this has nothing to do with twiki.org, or anywhere else -
it's a very real problem for me. I have had to discuss this with my work
place, and they have agree to me using a realistic looking pseudonym
(which I'll probably sign things as WK) when we release a few of our
projects open source in the new year.
I hope you understand this is not personal, and is intended as a polite,
cordial request - *please* cease changing my signature - it's shorter than
most after all.
Once again though, on the other changes you've made - I applaud and
welcome them - they're very positive, and I'm sure appreciated by a much
wider audience than just those who speak their mind!
Merry Christmas & Best Regards,
