Consider a song that has the three tracks
C. Each track has the same length and each measure is smbolized with lowerletter characters (
aaaaaaaa bbbbbbbb cccccccc
When you play with more than one person you often have to synchronize your playing and it is very tedious you have to skip to the end of track
A to see what
B is playing (could be several pages to skip).
This way of printing/exporting (e.g. to ASCII) aids in playing together:
aa bb cc aa bb cc aa bb cc aa bb cc
This is also how the export to Lilypond works if you enable the "grouped tracks" checkbox. But exporting to Lilypond does not always work.
For a reference, just take the Multi-Track view option in TuxGuitar. If you could print it how you see it there, that would be awesome.
