With the current trunk version, the jack plugin is no more configurable.
With tuxguitar 1.2, I was able to select one output per track or one output per instrument. Now, this no more possible (and it was really useful to export live each track to qtractor for example).

Discussion

  • that config was removed from the plugin setup.
in current version you can configure each instrument port from the instruments editor (the old Mixer window).
you may have the tuxguitar-jack-settings.jar plugin extension installed

Then click on "Exclusive Jack Port" checkbox to open an exclusive port.
By default all instruments redirect MIDI events to a GM Port.

    Thanks for these informations.
It seems that the plugin tuxguitar-jack-settings is not compiled by default. How do I compile this module via maven ?

    Best regards,

    YC

  • it should be there.. what build script are you using?

isn't it at share/plugins folder of the generated release?

if not you can manually build it.. go to the folder TuxGuitar-jack-settings
    and exec:
    mvn clean package

(if there are missing dependencies, you have to mvn clean install on all deps before)

Or you can build it with ant, bug you have to edit build.properties before and set al dependencies paths.

Yes, you're irght, it's there (it's just that the first time, I forgot to do the svn update before compiling).
Now, the problem I have is that I can't see the "exclusive port" check box.
It doesn't seems to be in the "show instrument" dialog.

  • You have to open the Instruments Editor, then click on the "Settings" button.
Then you should see a new window with the option "Exclusive Jack Port"

Also make sure Jack is configured as MIDI Port.. otherwise you wont see these jack settings in the instrument editor.

OK OK, it works. It's lot more easier like that than with tuxguitar-1.2.
    Nice work, thanks a lot.
