ssh -D, tsocks and smbmount

    Yesterday I tried using tsocks for the first time to mount a smb-share over a dynamic ssh tunnel.

    I failed and asked for help on ubuntuforums: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2081748
    No one there seem to have anything productive to say, so I thought I'd ask here aswell.

    Should it not be possible to use ssh -D to set up a proxy connection and then have tsocks proxie the mount request over it?

    I hope you'll forgive me for not rewriting the whole question again as I hope you can follow the link to my original post. ;)
