    Hi there,

    I have an ssh tunnel set up to my server at home. I bring it up using the following:

    ssh -p 22 -D 1080 user@myserver.net

    It works fine, and if I tell firefox to use localhost port 1080 in the connection settings I get connectivity.

    What I am trying to do is use tsocks so that I can route other programs through this tunnel. I installed tsocks from the Ubuntu repositories using apt-get. I have set up the following in /etc/tsocks.conf:

    local = 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0
    local = 10.0.0.0/255.0.0.0
    server = 127.0.0.1
    server_port = 1080
    server_type = 5

    However when I run:

    tsocks google-chrome or
    tsocks skype

    There is no connectivity.

    Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here?

    Many thanks for your help.

    Tim
